The Super Bowl isn't about football at all. It's to celebrate the ending of "Man Season". Man season begins with the first preseason game in August. The High Holy Bowler Days of Thanksgiving mark the crescendo and then the gradual decline through winter.
The AFC and NFC Championship games determine who represents the year and then the final "Fat Sunday" before the long fast. And so this year will either be the year of the Cheese or the year of Steel. Either way I'm glad to see Man Season 2010 pass into history.
