Dilbert creator wants everyone to know he's a genius.

Mary Elizabeth Williams writes in Salon magazine that Dilbert creator and cartoonist Scott Adams has been publicly defending himself by using a "sock-puppet" or fabricated user named "plannedchaos" in public forums.

Mr. Chaos has apparently long been a fan of Adams; Gawker noted Monday that early this year, he was posting on Reddit that "It's fair to say you disagree with Adams. But you can't rule out the hypothesis that you're too dumb to understand what he's saying. And he's a certified genius." How fortunate for Adams there are people in the world not "too dumb" to understand the certified genius. It just happens that they're all Scott Adams. On Friday, the cartoonist admitted on MetaFilter that he and plannedchaos are one and the same.  My tie! It's curving upward in astonishment! - Salon magazine

This was all in response to negative responses Adams got from an article he wrote in the Wall Street Journal.  In that article Adams writes, ""women are treated differently by society for exactly the same reason that children and the mentally handicapped are treated differently,"

I find it ironic that Adams has become the very creature he makes fun of in his comic. What kind of narcissist posts that they're a "certified genius" as fake third-person commenter? What is a certified genius anyway?

I've noticed this happens to some successful people. After a while they start to think that every thought that enters their skull is pure genius and must be immediately told to the world. That's when the filters and the self-examination disappear and the ugly little troll of a narcissist's personality is allowed to roam free.

So, congratulations Scott Adams for making a complete jackass of yourself.

I Got Smurfed

Planned for a 2011 release, Sony Picture presents the epic saga, The Smurfs - in 3D. I thought the Smurf movie already came out and it was called, Avatar. I mean those silly creatures looked like Smurfs.

In my generation there was nothing more hated and loathed than the Smurfs. Smurf were a mixture of a lawn gnome and demonic imp. They embodied cultural happiness to the point to extreme Xenophobia. As a species were comprised of all men with only one girl and command by a  Jim Jones character called Papa Smurf.

They lived in their own private clutches - kind of a "Blue Flight" from the rest of the intelligent creature of the land. Worse they had this kind of "Martyr Complex". The outside world was destined to destroy them. Smurfs were never proactive - for example, taking out Gargamel in his sleep.

Last but not least. the Smurfs were damn, pinko Communists.

I'm not looking forward to the movie and I will not be spending good American money on it. That is unless my daughter wants to see it ... then all bets are off

Speaking of Death

Harvey Pekar died yesterday (July 12, 2010). Harvey Pekar was a cartoonist and writer who worked with such comic greats as R. Crumb. He is most famous for his autobiographical comic, American Splendor.

Paul Giamatti played Pekar in the movie American Splendor. Pekar appeared eight times on the David Letterman's Late Show on NBC. However, his crude style and abrasive criticism of General Electric (company that owns NBC) got Pekar banned from the show.

Giamatti said of Pekar,"Harvey was one of the most compassionate and empathetic human beings I've ever met. He had a huge brain and an even bigger soul. And he was hilarious. He was a great artist, a true American poet, and there is no one to replace him."

Goodbye Harvey - you were never a disappointment.
